Book Value / Share
BVPSAccounting equity behind each share
Definition
Shareholders' equity divided by shares outstanding. For asset-heavy businesses it is a useful floor; for software and brands it often understates economic value because intangibles sit off the book.
Total shareholders' equity ÷ shares outstanding
Example
If equity is $74B and shares are 14.7B, BVPS is about $5.
